“Garden Festival for Youth” in the garden of the Bolderāja Branch Library
Sustainability and the reuse of materials were central themes of the festival, which participants were able to experience firsthand through five creative workshops. The event offered a chance to look at everyday items in a new light—glass, textiles, denim, and other materials that have already served their original purpose can become the starting point for something new. The workshops demonstrated how the reuse of resources transforms into playful creativity, while also reminding us that we don’t always need something new—sometimes a fresh idea for what we already have is enough. But in the end, it was the people who mattered most. Conversations around the tables. New acquaintances. Someone who was working. Someone who was taking photos. Someone who sat down on a bench and simply was. And someone who came alone but left with a new acquaintance or idea.

DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Each program and master class is tailored individually, taking into account the needs and growth objectives of the client and the target audience. The format of all programs consists of 30–40% theory and explanation, plus 60–70% in-depth practical engagement by participants, using various non-formal education methods, including future thinking and design thinking techniques.
The leader of our growth program is Marika Rudzīte-Griķe, a non-formal education trainer and community development practitioner. The growth activities, master classes, and hands-on workshops she designs have a clear focus on sustainable thinking and practical action, drawing on experience gained in real-world situations - such as leading social and business projects, organizing events, and working with young people, communities, NGOs, and entrepreneurs in Latgale and throughout Latvia. Marika is able to transform complex topics into practical, easy-to-understand examples that inspire people to change their habits, think more responsibly, and act more boldly.
[edu]TAINMENT TRIPS
What happens when you combine education and entertainment? - YOU HAVE [edu]TAINMENT TRIP!
The growth journeys we design are much more than just a tour or a trip abroad. They are a purposefully designed process in which participants gain new knowledge, experience, connections, and inspiration for personal or professional development. Our growth journey organization service includes program development, partner recruitment, logistics, participant preparation, facilitation of the learning process, and evaluation of the experiences gained to promote personal, professional, and community development.
Examples of growth trips organized to date:
- Study tour for representatives of the construction and urban planning sectors to Copenhagen (DENMARK), organized in collaboration with SIA “Mediju tilts” (commissioned by the Latgale Planning Region)
- A trip for artisans and small manufacturers to London Craft Week (in the UK)
- A trip to the Artigiano Fiera exhibition in Milan and the Christmas market in Bergamo (ITALY), organized in collaboration with the association “Sava kabata”
